Dental Implants
Bionic teeth to replace the gap
Missing teeth can contribute to premature aging, eating difficulties and bite derangement.
Dental implants are made from titanium which is biocompatible with your bone to allow for a greater bond between the implant and your natural bone. This ensures that the implant remains fixed in place like natural tooth root, and a crown can be secured on top, thus giving you the closest replacement to a real tooth, which is not removable like a denture.
Dental implants can also be used as an anchor or clip for people struggling with loose dentures.
What to expect
A dental implant typically takes about four appointments from start to finish, over a span of 3-6 months.
The first step is to obtain a 3d x-ray and scan, which allows us to do a site assessment for the ideal implant and crown position.
Utilizing the latest digital technology, we can then predictably place the implant in a pre-planned position (not too dissimilar to placing a screw in between two thin panes of glass!).
After approximately three to six months of healing, the crown is ready to be fabricated and secured over the implant.
