Dentures
Restoring your smile
If you are missing one or more natural teeth due to an accident, infection or genetics, a denture can help restore your smile and overall lifestyle.
There are two types of dentures, a full denture for those that have lost all their natural teeth, or a partial denture for those missing some teeth. Partial dentures can be made with acrylic or cobalt chromium, depending on its intended us.
We can also combine dental implants and dentures to help make loose dentures stay firmly in place. Other times we use dentures as a temporary solution while we wait for our patients to heal enough for dental implants. All these options options are offered at Surry Hills Dental Centre.
If you feel that a denture may assist with improving your smile and way of life, then talk to us and see what we can do for you.
What to expect
Depending on the number of missing teeth and the complexity of your bite, the process to make a denture can range from two to six appointments from start to finish.
We typically start by taking a scan or mold of your teeth and gums, as well as a series of photos, so we can effectively communicate our needs with our laboratory technician.
We use a local laboratory based in Sydney to ensure that the quality of work that you get are of the highest quality with no shortcuts taken.
Meticulous assessments will be made taking into consideration your existing teeth (or an old photo with teeth showing is helpful too), the color and shape desired, your face type and lip positioning, so that we can give you the most natural looking smile.
